Close regedit, and rerun the D2MultiResGame exe. Change its value to that number you remembered.
For me I wanted to run it 1920x1080, so 15 was my number. Remember the number for the resolution you want to run it in. It should have a bunch of resolutions it found. Look in the D2MultiResLog.txt log file (in your Diablo II folder).
You can't change the res in-game in a non-LoD Diablo II install because there is no resolution button, so exit the game. It should start the game and generate a log file. You need to make a soft symlink for every file in d1 into d2. These are the files that contain your cdkeys, so you must copy these over. You need to copy the files d2char.mpq and d2sfx.mpq from d1 into cp. This is so each window can get it's own bncache.dat file, so Warden doesn't kill you. you'll drop out of the game in 45 seconds. If two windows are trying to use the same Warden module, when the server is asking for a different module. The problem is that stores Warden info in the file bncache.dat. Getting multiple D2 windows to work on bnet isn't an easy task, but it can be done.
